Quotes

Gutierrez stated: "The people of Guam need leadership for all not just for a select few.  Our people are suffering from the high cost of living, the crime epidemic, the lack of jobs, ballooning government debt and a climate of fear and intimidation all because of this administration. It is time for change. We need to unite our people with a vision that will bring all sectors of our community together for a common good. This administration has successfully used their position at Adelup to tear our people apart on such critical matters as the military buildup by polarizing this community and preventing us from providing one clear and strong voice.  I fully support the buildup, but to make it work for all the people of Guam we need leadership that brings people together and not divides them. We must bring all the stakeholders together so that no one feels left behind and it starts with the Governor of Guam.”"
Congresswoman Bordallo will also be facing opposition from within her own party in Democratic congressional candidate Matt Artero. "Since I'm new to politics please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself. I am the son of Millie and the late Tony Artero from Agana Heights. I was born on Guam and went to public school on Guam. My wife Kay is a UOG graduate has been teaching at Notre Dame high school for 13 years. Since being medically discharged from the Navy in 1989 I mostly worked in real estate where one has to keep an eye on the economy, jobs, wages, government programs, policies, economic policies and even international events that affect Guam's economy. I respect our Congresswoman. I am running because I have some ideas and also feel I can contribute,” said Artero. The Democratic candidate for Congress says that his dream is to help build a Guam that has more economic opportunities for even more people to advantage of and he says the way to accomplish this is through education."
"You see the signs out they say "The Right Direction'. I'll tell you the right direction is for them to leave Adelup," he said."
