Captain Kingsley Roberts, Delta MEC chairman, stated that "The Delta MEC unanimously opposes the establishment of a U S CBP preclearance facility at the Abu Dhabi International Airport or any other airport in the UAE. The Delta MEC will direct appropriate resources to ensure the irrationality of a U S CBP preclearance facility is fully exposed to the U S traveling public."
John Barton, spokesman for the Air Line Pilots Association, said after the recent bombing in Boston "we know terror isn't going away. And if it happens at 30,000 feet, it puts you in a tough spot."
"That includes things like working with the airlines to get passengers offloaded from aircraft that won't be departing, ensuring that concessions will be open in the evenings and being available to assist passengers affected by cancelations" he told NBC News
