"given the increase in north american oil production and in conjunction with the low operating cost due to the price of natural gas, it seems increasing the capacity of oil refining facilities makes a lot of sense" Lipow said
That trend is likely to continue into the future as North American drillers produce more crude oil and refineries continue to expand their capacity. "if one looks at the long-term trend, the answer is we are going to be processing record amounts of crude oil over the next few years, more than we've previously done" Lipow said
"I expect the retail price to go down to about $3.55 a gallon over the next week or so," Lipow said. "then we’ll have to see if these events overseas result in the market turning around and costing the consumer more money."
"there is limited availability of light sweet crude in the cushing, oklahoma market" said Andy Lipow, head of the consultancy Lipow Oil Associates
