Quotes

Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from the Hebei University of Technology, "The effects of the various parameters-nature of the precipitant, temperature, glutaraldehyde concentration, and cross-linking time-on the activity recovery of the resulting CLEAs were studied. The laccase CLEAs-egg exhibited increased stability compared to the free and the laccase CLEAs without protein feeder. The thermal stability of CLEAs-egg was improved and showed 1.3- and 1.8-fold increase in activity at 40 and 60 A degrees C after 5 h incubation, respectively. The stability of CLEAs-egg against denaturants (urea and GndHCl) and protease (trypsin) was also improved. Laccase CLEAs-egg was also demonstrated to be an active and stable biocatalyst in the removal of chlorophenol."
According to the news reporters, the research concluded: "Using the developed stirred tank reactor system, alkaline-pretreated wheat straw could be converted to 110 g/kg glucose (76 %) at a solid content of 20%(w/w) after 48 h. Organosolv-pretreated beech wood could be efficiently hydrolysed even at 30 % (w/w) DM, giving 150 g/kg glucose (72 %)."
According to the news editors, the research concluded: "RtXyl increased loaf softness by 19.6 % while reducing bread staling by 20.4 % up to 4 days of storage."
According to the news editors, the research concluded: "Furthermore, the immobilized xylanase could be effectively recovered in situ following the hydrolysis reaction."
