CV: Ana Lya Uriarte is the Chairwoman-Minister of the National Environment Commission. From 2006 until her designation in March 2007 as Minister of CONAMA, the National Environment Commission, she served as the organization's Executive Director. She has also worked as a lawyer at the Environment Unit of the State Defense Council (CDE)the Chief of Staff and Head of the Legal Department of the Metropolitan (Santiago) Health Service (SESMA)and as a lawyer at the Pension Normalization Institute (INP).Uriarte has participated in the creation of interdisciplinary teams, with responsibilities linked to management for the institutional development and the negotiation of strategies and interests in public-private relations. She is also working as a professor in the Master's program in Environmental Law at the University of Chile.
