Education: He graduated from the İstanbul Technical University, Faculty of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. Also, he received a Masters degree in the same faculty.
CV: From 1978 to 1993 he worked in Türkiye Gemi Sanayi Genel Müdürlüğü and Camialtı Tershanesi as director. Between 1990-91, Binali Yildirim had taken specialization education on Maritime Safety and Environmental Protection in World Maritime University (WMU), United Nations International Maritime Organization (IMO), in Sweden. During, his education program Binali Yildirim had been attend control operations with Maritime Management Experts in Scandinavian Countries and Europe for 6 months. From 1994-2000, Mr. Yildirim was the General Manager of Istanbul Fast Ferries Co. Inc. (İDO) (participation of İstanbul Büyükşehir Municipality). During this duty Binali Yildirim materialized important projects to canalize people to sea transportation and thus help ease traffic problem in the city. Furthermore, IDO become one of the biggest companies all over the World, with the elaboration of İstanbul- Yalova and Bandırma lines, Adnan Menderes and Turgut Özal ferries joined the fleet, and İstanbul gained 29 ferry terminals, 22 sea buses and 4 ferries. He had been honored to the International ‘Skal' Quality Award for his contributions to sea transportation and tourism in 1999. He had been elected as a deputy from the İstanbul 1st Area, currently, he is the Minister of Transport in 59th Government.
