Education: He is a graduate of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Subsequently he took Master's Degrees in Public Health and Sociology at the University of Michigan He later obtained a Joint Doctorate in Organization of Medical Attention and Sociology at the University of Michigan
CV: His writings include 28 books and case studies, and a wide variety of articles in academic and cultural reviews and newspapers. He is a member of various editorial boards of national and foreign reviews a member of 12 scientific groups, including the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico. He has been Vice President of the Mexican Foundation for Health President of the Mexican Society of Quality in Health Care. Since 1988 he was appointed Executive Director of Research and Information for the Policies of the World Health Organization since Aug 2005 this year has been one of the coordinators of the health area in the transition team of President Elect Vicente Fox.
