Mironov has been the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and the Head of the Ontology Epistemology department since 1998, Head of Department of Philosophy, Political and Religion Studies of the Education Board of the Universities of the Russian Federation. Member of the Peter Academy of Arts and Sciences, member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission, head of the doctoral Academic Council in Ontology and Epistemology, Vice President of the Philosophical Association of the Russian Federation. The range of his academic interests covers the studies of the peculiarities of Philosophy as the two-faced form of consciousness combining rational and emotive components. He is one of the founders of the Russian Philosophy Faculties Association. V. Mironov delivers courses of lectures in Ontology and Metaphysics at the Departments of Philosophy, Political and Religious studies. He is also the author of a number of additional courses for students.He has been a research supervisor to 15 seekers of Candidate Degree, 7 of his former students hold Doctoral Degree. Vladimir Mironov is the author of a great number of publications. Within the last tree years he published 2 monographs, one of them - in Italian, three textbooks, a textbook for administrative workers "Principles of Taking Administrative Decisions in the System of the Executive Power". In the last few years a number of Mironov's articles dealing with the correlation of Philosophy and Sciences and the place of Philosophy in the cultural environment have been published. He is also the author of sociopolitical articles, touching upon the philosophical issues alongside the issues of educational system on the whole.
