Quotes

...How did this hobby turn into Emilia’s professional career – we learn more from her: "Overall, it took me more than 10 years. Otherwise, I have always been a fan of mountains, skiing, snowboarding, bikingg and generally of being outdoors and outside the urban environment. I love campfires and picnics in the open, sleeping in a tent. I graduated from tourism and initially worked in agencies that deal with standard tourism. Once I worked there, I found that I was not happy and pleased. Although I was doing a lot of traveling, I felt this was not my thing and that adventures are my real passion. Indeed, from a hobby they turned into work. The name "Adventure Network" came from that fact that I came across$ a few things that can be done at various locations in Bulgaria and around the world. So we started first with biking, then the idea of rafting came. We have friends who are kayakers and have been dealing with this for a long time. We joined forces and so things started.”"
...The Association has got about 40 members. What are the challenges that woman have to deal with in this sector? "It is hard for women, as the job requires hard physical work and a lot of care. Taking out honeycombs, honey extraction etc. demand great physical effort. However, in preparing products, women take a lead. They usually help their husbands. Still, I should like to note that there is always a way for a woman to take up beekeeping on her own. Technologies have developed a lot, and now the beehives are lighter to move. They are made of plastic and bees feel alright in them as they keep the warmth.”"
