The police said, "We have recovered Rs 1.8 lakh cash and coupons from the arrested, the rest of the cash they had spent."
He did, however, admit that vehicle theft is on the rise. "Despite our limited manpower, we've been successfully controlling crime in the city. There are no organised carjacking gangs in Noida. We have found that some youth from neighbouring districts of Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Bulandshahr might be involved in it. Whenever we come to know of thefts, we take immediate action and try to recover the vehicle and punish the guilty" he said
When contacted, Kotturpuram crime wing inspector D Pandian said, "We are trying to trace the suspects with the help of the CCTV footage."
