Shadow health and social services minister Darren Millar said: "It's just weeks since the College of Emergency Medicine told us that [emergency] departments are at the 'point of meltdown' and now is certainly not the time to be slashing the life-saving services they provide."
...Already, they have been facing shortage of beds and such arrivals enhance the problem and proper care is not provided to them. "If you were to look at the numbers of people multiplied by the length of time they are spending in emergency departments, that is what is increasing substantially" , said Clancy to the Commons health select committee
"The evidence seems to be that patients like it and there is no deterioration in their care."
..."The truth is that this is a mess of the Government’s own making," he said. "It will not be solved by the Secretary of State’s spin or by blaming GPs. He has been found playing politics when he should be dealing with the real causes of today’s chaos."
