Quotes

CI member Organización de Consumidores y Usuarios (OCU) welcomed the decision: "Definitely, the European judgment is an important turning point. Finally, judges will have tools to stop an eviction and owners may defend themselves with legal grounds according to current society. It is illogical and unfair to judge in the 21st Century with a last century law."
Luis Flores, CI's project co-ordinator, said: "When they were looking for alternatives, they were thinking of countries where there would be enough consciousness, awareness of sustainability, certain minimal levels of institutional development and where Unesco's Decade of Education for Sustainable Development was doing some sort of work."
"We are concerned that in important areas the recommendations fall short of what is required. In particular, we are concerned that the OECD principles do not include any explicit reference to deposit guarantees in the event of bank failures" Consumers International said in a letter to the G20
