"In the near-term, through 2015, we'll incorporate solar photovoltaic energy and more than 30% of our energy supply will be realized through renewable projects. In the medium-term, we will add run-of-the-river hydro-electricity and become a leading mining company in the use of clean sources of energy."
In this regard, the president of Asoex, Ronald Bown, said: "For now we expect a normal fruit export season which, as usual, is subject to future weather conditions, among other aspects related to the production chain and the shipment of domestic fruit."
Bachelet said, "This year alone, we are incorporating more than 1,000 MW of new energy to our system through different non-conventional renewable energies. This is an important step towards our 2025 target of having 20% of our energy coming from non-conventional renewable energies."
Speaking during a ceremony for First Solar’s 141MW Luz del NorteNorte Solar Power Plant in the Atacama Desert,  Bachelet  said:  "Chile is in a position to be a leader in renewable energy in the SouthernSouthern Cone, and in the Atacama region we are doing so."
