Quotes

"They feel like if something is going to be done, they sort of have to say OK, they have to go along with it," said Steve Kilston, "because if they don't then they'll be accused of something, so there's a lot of pressure, if we're talking about peer pressure, for students to say they're anti-drug."
"This isn't about busting kids," said Cottage Grove High School Principal Iton Udosenata. "It's about helping kids. It's not about infringing on kids' rights. The outcome we want is for more kids to have the opportunity to say 'no.'" Senior Jarrett Reade, the co-chair of the athletes’ council, supported the measure because “it’s an easy way to see who is using and who is not.”
Cimburke: "It's ultimately the school board members that vote on things. But usually they vote on things after hearing public comments and reading public comments. There was no opportunity for that this time because they passed it in a meeting at which no community members were present."
Mike Ulatoski of 247sports.com wrote, "Michael Griffin emerged as one of the elite athletes in attendance immediately. Simply a natural athlete, Michael has explosive feet and hips, plays zone coverage with authority and can break on the ball with the best of them."
