Quotes

"The industry has exported between 0.60-0.65 million tonnes of raw sugar so far this year. Since, crushing season has already come to an end, there will no fresh production of raw sugar during the rest of subsidy period i e. until September 2014. As a natural consequence, there will be no fresh raw sugar exports this year. Even if we consider some orders in hand, overall quantity will not surpass the 1 million tonne mark this year" said Narendra Murkumbi , managing director, Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd, one of India's top sugar refiners and exporters
"Until recently, sugar was a beaten down sector. We are very bullish towards this sector being a cyclical one. With the government fresh measures for bailing out, the industry's cash flow will improve. That will result into high profit - earnings (P/E) ratio for the industry led by increased profitability in the coming years" said Harish Vasudevan, Strategist, SVS Securities
