"We heard about tributaries and their interconnectiveness to the aquifer," she said. "We heard that it could be decades before the aquifer could be contaminated, but we can't take that risk."
"It was all risk, no reward, you know. So I think that was one of the things that weighed on the board is what does the county get out of this" added William Rau, an IPA Spokesperson
"People live on their cellphones and computers. Much of that information is retrievable" said Wycoff
Chairman Sally Rudolph said: "I cannot vote to take this type of risk on public health and safety. The county does not have the resources to watch over this. I do not believe we have adequate data to be 100 percent sure this project will not harm the Mahomet Aquifer."
