Comments: Duke Energy Corporation (Duke Energy) is an energy company located in the Americas with a real estate subsidiary. Duke Energy operates in six business units: U.S. Franchised Electric and Gas, Natural Gas Transmission, Field Services, Commercial Power, International Energy and Duke Energy's 50% interest in the Crescent joint venture (Crescent). In May 2005, Duke Energy and Cinergy announced they entered into a definitive merger agreement. On May 4, 2006, it sold Duke Energy North America's (DENA) fleet of wholesale power generation assets outside the Midwest to a subsidiary of LS Power Equity Partners (LS Power). In August 2006, Vectren Corporation purchased Duke Energy's interest in Miller Pipeline Corporation. In April 2006, it merged with Cinergy.
