Under the "Specific Fiscal Risks" section of the Budget documents, Treasury says KiwiRail "has signalled its intention to seek $239 million of additional Crown funding over the next four years to complete the 10-year strategy for KiwiRail to achieve a commercially viable network"
"The share offer program remains important for the government’s books and for the economy," English said in a speech to parliament today. "As well as raising money to invest in new public assets, it benefits the companies themselves through greater market discipline."
"Look, you’d have to look at some very favourable conditions for the Government to get a number of floats away after this one," Mr Ryall says. "We haven’t yet made a decision on the Air NewZealand timing."
