Mr Leong Keng Thai, IDA's Deputy Chief Executive and Director General (Telecoms and Post), said, "Service providers should continue to place emphasis on customer engagement and servicing as one of the key retention strategies. Service providers should look beyond traditional customer service solutions such as telephone hotlines and be innovative, such as using live chat software solutions, to shorten waiting time and boost customer satisfaction."
Dr Lee Boon Yang, Chairman of the SPH Board, said: "On behalf of the SPH board, I welcome Ms Janet Ang on board. As SPH continues to innovate in the fast-changing media industry, I am confident that Janet, with her vast experiences in the IT industry and knowledge of its evolving trends, will be able to contribute effectively to the growth of our business."
"M1 reported to IDA the technical fault they experienced earlier this afternoon, where calls to their customer service hotline were re-routed to the police emergency hotline. IDA understands that the issue has been resolved. M1 have also advised all their customers to reboot their phones when possible" said an IDA spokesperson in a statement
William Lau, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Research), DSO National Laboratories, who chaired the evaluation panel, added, "The projects that the panel has recommended for the inaugural grant call have the potential to significantly strengthen Singapore's cybersecurity. We are, however, only at the beginning. A lot more work lies ahead of us to give the researchers the time and space to innovate and then to get the projects translated to actual deployment."
