Quotes

...The apex industry body, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, says it is committed to the new policy. "We want to have a single norm for fuel across the country. We have no issue with the new policy as long as they do not keep a dual fuel norm that will not just affect the environment but also complicate distribution for the auto companies to supply two different types of vehicles in the domestic market" said SIAM director-general Vishnu Mathur
"China's product market has been very weak, plus refineries are going under maintenance" said a seller of SRFO to China
Final Investment Decision There is no definitive timeline. An Imperial Oil spokesperson said: "We're a fair ways away from an investment decision. We'll make that decision after we get government regulatory approvals and determine contracts and relationships with customers and suppliers and a variety of other factors."
Niraj Mansingka, Associate Director at Edelweiss, said, "We thought that the government would have increased diesel prices this month as it never accepted the recommendations of the Kirit Parikh Report on diesel pricing. A gradual price hike is a good idea to remove the subsidy on diesel keeping in mind the government's fiscal situation. Moreover, this will encourage competition in long term and ultimately benefit the consumers"
