Quotes

"Good progress continues in 2013 and it is an exciting time for Glanbia. We have the next generation of leadership stepping up as a result of effective succession planning. We have a unique opportunity to further develop competitive advantage in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer nutritional products and solutions. We also have the organisational competencies and financial capacity to execute our strategy, all underpinned by positive and long-term trends in global nutritional markets. We look forward to the future with confidence."
Micheal O Muircheartaigh, who was also present, said it was "fantastic to see a small rural club with every one of the modern facilities". "Before we had one field that wasn't anywhere near sand capped or mole drained and we had a community centre – but this is much bigger" he said
"This is the first greenfield primary dairy processing development in over 40 years in Ireland; it is an historic occasion, not only for GIIL and its 4,600 milk suppliers, but for the country. Through Enterprise Ireland, the Government is part-funding the development of this world class dairy facility on the Kilkenny/Waterford border. The new facility will support on-farm growth and create jobs and provide an economic boost locally and nationally. I congratulate the business on the creation of what will, as a conservative estimate, generate over 1600 direct and indirect jobs - and will create an estimated E400 million pa in value for the economy - with particular benefit to farm families and rural communities" he said
...Mr Coveney said: "This disease is of serious concern as ash is one of Ireland's most important native trees."
