Quotes

"We don't understand why it's being said that disclosure of policy will cause harm to national security. None of this information ought to be secret. Procedures for ensuring that privileged material is properly protected ought to be open to public scrutiny" the court representative of Abdel Hakim Belhaj and Sami al-Saadi, two Libyan victims of rendition, was quoted by the newspaper as saying
"This poses a threat to neighbouring countries," he added. "There is almost confirmed news that fighters from Syria have entered Libya through Mitiga and Sirte airports, which are controlled by armed militias not reporting to the Libyan government. These airports may be even used to send civilian aircraft in terrorist missions similar to those carried out by al-Qaeda in New York in 2001 or to target the European countries that are taking part in international airstrikes against ISIS."
...A Reuters report from last week noted that the strikes "seemed to be intended to hamper Islamic State's ability to operate across the border with Iraq, where it also controls territory." In other words, the aim is not to destroy ISIS in Syria - but, as far as possible, to keep ISIS in Syria
...Specifically, Hassi accused the former Libyan General National Congress (GNC) of having funded ISIS. He claimed that a "former agent of the Ministry of Defense and former leader of the Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), Khaled Al-Sharif, continued to support extremist groups. Furthermore Hassi accused the Mayor of Tripoli, Almahdi Al-Harati, of bringing ISIS recruits into Libya with the support of Sudan, Qatar, and Turkey."
