"I'm hoping that that's where it's going to stay," he said. "My number one priority was to go through the budget and find $131,000 without cutting staff. Frankly, I was surprised to find $130,831 without having to do that. We did eliminate another proposed half-time position."
"This was by far our most dominating performance of the year in terms of scores," said Oceanside coach Nick Blais. "To only lose a total of three games was a great feeling, but truly it was all in preparation for our [match] against Camden Hills [on April 30]. At this point our two squads are both undefeated and have had great starts to our seasons. Although I will be down a player [for that match I look forward to the challenge that the Windjammers pose and know my girls will play their very best."
"Obviously a great win and a great way to start off the season after a tough season last year," said Belfast coach Chris Bartlett. "Extremely proud of the girls. They played very well against a veteran team. MCI has a lot of seniors on their team that have been starting since their freshman year and I have a relatively young team with only four seniors. We came out and had good opportunities, but made a couple of crucial running mistakes. But the girls didn't let that bother them. They continued to play hard and in the sixth inning everything came together for us."
