Quotes

"Michael is an amazing young man," Barnett said. "In the face of a diagnosis of a condition that is debilitating, he stood up and said, 'I want to make this world a better place'."
"Everything was fine," Baker said. "But since then, the accusations have kept coming and seem to have intensified. We don't know what their specific concerns are because we don't know how to contact (the anonymous writers)."
...According to the US Department of Education website, the purpose of these systems is to "capture, analyze, and use student data from preschool to high school, college and the workforce."
"My only concern at this juncture is ensuring these children are able to finish the school year, the seniors are able to graduate, and these student?s lives are not negatively impacted,? said Oakes. According to the Michigan Financial Health Dashboard, the state's rainy day fund was at $364.9 million during the 2012 report - the most current figure available on the site. ?We have to evaluate all possible avenues for getting these children back in school on Monday,? said Oakes. ?The Department of Treasury needs to explore the possible loan options they have to reopen the district. Allocating emergency funding from the state?s rainy day fund is an expedient option that serves to put the children first, regardless of what you believe the fund is 'intended for.' There is also funding left in the state?s School Aid Fund that can be used to reopen the school.? "According to officials from the House Fiscal Agency, a nonpartisan agency that serves to assist members of the Michigan House of Representatives with the state's fiscal and legislative issues, there is more than enough funding in the School Aid Fund to loan Buena Vista the resources they need to reopen," the press release stated."
