...The regulatory body took action after a story titled "Ogra has given a free hand to the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) dealers and plant operators to blatantly violate the set rules and regulations" was published in Business Recorder
As per government policy "decanting of LPG is prohibited and cross filling of other LPG marketing companies' cylinder is also banned except under hospitality arrangement with prior information in writing to Ogra. Ogra has the authority to cancel licences of the LPG marketing companies involved in violation of this section" an official of the regulatory body said
...According to Mohammad Irfan Khokhar, Chairman of All Pakistan LPG Distribution Association (APLDA), the commodity "s prices were reduced by $151 per ton during the past four months in international market. In January 2013, LPG was being traded at $910 per ton, which now touched $759 level. He maintained that after the current reduction in LPG price, the average price of the commodity across the country was reduced by Rs 6 per kg, Rs 72 per domestic cylinder (11.8 kg) and Rs 272 per commercial cylinder (45 kg). He added that the fresh reduction in the commodity prices has made it 50 percent cheaper against prices of diesel and petrol."
