Assuming the office, the newly appointed NHRC Chairman Anup Raj Sharma said that regarding the issue of TRC, the NHRC has limited role. "Our role is limited only to the recommendation committee for TRC and Commission for Enforced Disappearance (CED). I cannot comment anything on the TRC issue at present" said Sharma
Former minister Shrestha maintained that there was no complaint about financial irregularities during his tenure. "I was not involved in any decision making process of NTB, as I was just a facilitator,” said Shrestha. Responding to a query on why he extended term of two executive members of NTB -- Rewat Bahadur Thapa and Dhruba Narayan Shrestha, Shrestha argued that there was a provision in NTB Act which states term of executive members can be extended if they are loyal to the organization and that that their activities do not harm the board´s image."
Sher Bahadur Chaudhary, a local farmer, lamented that price fixation committee led by the chief district officer doesn´t fix the price in time. "By the time they fix the minimum price, most of the farmers would have already sold paddy" he added
"She has not eaten anything for nearly a year," Dr Swayam Prakash Pandit, the hospital director, said. "She needs care and support for a few more weeks."
