"We have been trying to seek an appointment with the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. On our request, Brinda Karat had also written to the PM requesting an appointment" said NFIW Rajasthan Secretary, Nisha Sidhu
"I completely reject such a formulation by any leader from UP, especially the leaders of the ruling party of the state. Denying is a bigger crime and acceptance itself can solve half of the issue. Only then can they take strict actions to prevent such crimes. The ruling party of UP is politicising violence against women by repeatedly denying the existence of such crimes. The government will have to necessary actions against the culprits" said women rights activist Annie Raja. Lucknow also witnessed a series of protests against poor law and order in the state
National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) general secretary Annie Raja told ANI, "This shows that irrespective of the place or age, and irrespective of what dress they wear, crimes against women have increased. Government should be more conscious and alert. In Uttar Pradesh, the vehicle of Chief Minister was given more budgetary allowance than the implementation of legislations. This is a war like situation for the Indian woman. Governments, whether at the centre or in states, need to wake up and ensure this doesn't happen."
"Maneka Gandhi's statement that juveniles who commit rape should be tried as adults doesn't go with nation's principals. Many times young boys have been found to have committed this crime, but somewhere, changing this act completely is not possible, although, we do respect her thinking" DNA  quoted Memon
