Quotes

"Typically, it's after hours.. park closes at sunset.. you can still walk in," said Cody Huggina of the Phoenix Parks Department. "Unfortunately, we can't be here around the clock. We believe that's when it's occurring. We just want to educate so folks know that it's unacceptable. We want to keep it as a preserve and in its natural state as much as we can."
"It was a devastating fire and a devastating loss, but overarching all of it, we are grateful that there was no loss of life in this fire" said Lisa Linden with the group Families of Flight 93
"National parks exist to preserve and protect our nation's natural, cultural and historic heritage for both current and future generations,” the release said. “Vandalism is a violation of the law and it also damages and sometimes destroys often irreplaceable treasures that belong to all Americans."
"Some of the these structures here are in pretty bad shape," Bertrand said. "They've outlived their life and there are some safety issues with them."
