...Faculty members are scared of audit objections and a daily rent of ` "10,000 is charged for the seminar hall, even from the teaching departments. “The atmosphere in the varsity has turned from academic to bureaucratic. The number of fellowships stands reduced and classes have been suspended indefinitely, which will affect the research work. The issue started with restrictions being imposed on exchange of teachers between universities and application for duty leave,” said a faculty member. The new-found emphasis on revenue generation by various departments is another bone of contention. Unlike the science stream, there are limitations for Departments teaching humanities to generate revenue. “Everything cannot be counted in terms of money. They also complained that the Vice-Chancellor was not ready to personally speak"

“The government commenced the project with a budget of ` "14 crore in 2011 but only 30 per cent has been paid. About one year’s arrears are pending. At this pace, the work will be stuck,” they said."
"What an Indian student demands is different from what a foreign university offers. In a foreign university everything is left to the student’s motivation, whereas in India, students want to be guided and given the extra push,” he said."
