Naked managing director Tom Ward,, who only joined the agency in March, said: "Hush Puppies is a great brand, and we're excited to be helping to bring a bit of their classic style to more Australian feet."
Tracey Lang, group marketing manager, footwear, sport & outerwear, Pacific Brands, said Naked were "valued partners" and praised its "approach, team and the fresh ideas they presented on Hush Puppies. We’re looking forward to working with them”."
...extremely seriously and mandate regular internal and independent audits of facilities with which we have a commercial relationship," he said. "Pacific Brands was the first Australian company to join the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI). "Like other signatories who have been saddened by recent events in Bangladesh, we have been in regular contact with ETI and fully support its drive for the introduction of a new fire and safety plan in Bangladesh that sets standards all facilities must meet." A Target spokesman also said "a small number" of the retailer's products were made by suppliers in Bangladesh. "However none of our suppliers operated from the buildings involved in the factory collapse or factory fire," he said. The spokesman said Target's Ethical Sourcing Code requires compliance to proper working conditions, fair pay and labour standards, health and safety, business integrity and legal requirements. "We also proactively conduct regular, unannounced factory audits and, where zero tolerance breaches are detected, factories are deregistered as suppliers immediately," he said. "All of our Bangladesh suppliers have valid audits in place. Last year 895 audits took place across our entire supply chain." A Cotton On spokeswoman said it was mandatory that both the retailer's suppliers and their sub-contractors be audited before the company engages in any relationship with them. "As part of our auditing program, OH&S is one of our major focus areas that, as an example covers all checks and audits of emergency evacuation plans and fire drills," she said. "In the past 12 months, 156 audits have been conducted throughout our 10 vendor sites and their sub-contracted partners in Bangladesh by our Ethical Auditing Team." A Kmart spokeswoman said the retailer's team on the ground in Bangladesh had confirmed that none of Kmarts suppliers operated from this building. "At Kmart, we work closely with our suppliers and their factory team members to ensure they have an understanding of the importance of safety," she said. "More importantly we made a decision some months back not to engage with any new suppliers who have factories above marketplaces, such as the garment factory reported in Bangladesh, or in shared premises due to the possibility of accidents occurring and safety concerns. "Kmart has also identified that unauthorised subcontracting by factories is a major risk and now has a zero tolerance policy on factories." Comment has been sought from Big W "
...IVF company is new to the listed space and carries risks, given subsidies or partial reimbursements to patients from the government are generous. "If the level of reimbursement provided by these programs for Virtus' services were to change, Virtus' patients may face higher out-of-pocket expenses for assisted reproductive services. This may cause Virtus to experience reduced demand for its range of services, potentially leading to a reduction in Virtus' revenue and profitability" the prospectus states
