...frame loss ratio and frame delay of Ethernet Services in their network," says Richard Burroughs, xxxx, Director of Salesxxx at OE Solutions. "Just like the OAM Smart SFP, the EX14 provides the key performance indicators that enable Mobile Backhaul and Business Ethernet Access operators to provide optimized quality of experience to end users"
"In terms of technology, 4G is a clear winner that offers a much faster speed than 3G. Besides, being based on packet switching technology, it is better suited for broadband services giving a better quality of experience compared to 3G. However, the uptake of 4G might get impeded by two factors - first, the pricing plans offered by operators, as compared to 3G; the second and more relevant factor might be related to mobile backhaul. In order for the end user to get good quality of experience, the mobile backhaul network has to be state-of-the-art and be able to match the speed offered by the access side of the network. Currently, optic fiber is the only technology capable of being able to scale to the speeds required to support these 4G services. Only about 25 percent of mobile cell sites are being served by optical fiber as of now. Investment will have to be made in fiber infrastructure and in backhaul equipment. Since most operators are providing all of 2G, 3G, and 4G services at once, a backhaul network, which can carry each kind of traffic efficiently and can seamlessly migrate from 2G to 3G to 4G would be key to reducing the CapEx and OpEx for service providers, thereby making these services more affordable."
...in networks over 2010 is possible even while coping with the deluge of data that is expected and takes into account the InternetInternet of Things. "The traffic numbers are based on extrapolations from Cisco and others. It may be a lot of devices but the internetinternet of things is not expected to create a lot of data necessarily. Data volume will still be dominated by video for humans" said Klein
...BIPON, claims Greentouch, can lower the energy consumption of an individual ONU by a factor of 10. "We are extremely proud of the progress we've made in our first three years, yet there is still much more we can do to improve efficiencies and effectively reinvent technologies in the name of environmental stewardship" said Greentouch chairman Thierry Van Landegem, in a statement
