"The CBI has filed one more application of perjury against Prashant Bhushan, the petitioner association CPIL, and Kamini Jaiswal for making deliberate and intentional false statements on oath and before the Supreme Court" said a CBI spokesperson
...of a first information report, Sinha said the NGO's plea that he should stay away from participating in the 2G investigation and trial was "clearly mischevious and based on untruth facts in which mis-statements have been deliberately made so as to obtain a favourable order from the court"
He further added, "Now, who enabled that, FIPB had put it up for signature with the provision that the matter would be according to law. But Chidambaram never went into it, he immediately signed. Today, he is blaming officers to putting up the file with him. This is not the job of Minister to blindly sign what officers put before him and certainly not Chidambaram who is suppose to be a lawyer."
"It, prima facie, appears that the said file cannot be the record of respondent No.1 (Centre) and yet has been produced in court as such. In the given circumstances, the Secretary of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports... Is directed to hold an inquiry as to whether the file forms part of the original records of respondent No.1 and whether it conforms to the standards required...It is further directed that the inquiry report relating to the said file be placed before this court within a period of six weeks from today" it said
