Amber Alert rules followed in case of missing girl allegedly killed by mom: RCMP

CALGARY - Alberta RCMP have determined officers did nothing wrong when they didn't issue an Amber Alert for a missing nine-year-old girl allegedly killed by her mother.An internal review was conducted into how officers handled the missing persons case ... "She told us it was a large fire she could see, that it was moving fairly fast, and they thought they required a helicopter," McCurdy said. "She said there was a possibility that homes could be at risk."
"What a great place to do that first of all, because they're always busy, but it's just such a generous thing from the Pioneer Co-op. We can't wait to find out what the total is. We'll be doing that during Radiothon, we'll invite them to come on and make the donation at the time. It's just so spectacular."
Later in the afternoon, shortly before 5 p.m. Argyle Emergency Measures posted this update on it's Facebook page: "The Municipality of Argyle has received an update from the incident commander of the Department of Natural Resources that the situation has improved and they are currently dropping water on the area. Residents initially requested to evacuate are being asked to standby instead of evacuate. "
"Where is the Canada we used to know, Mr. Speaker, the one that has the history of upholding high standards of human rights and social democratic values in this country?" he said
