Quotes

...According to one expartner, some members of Withers' litigation team have reservations about a tieup. "The previous vote for the merger in Italy last year only just squeezed through. Withers' management have an uphill task in persuading partners to go ahead. Withers has had a good year and seen a shallow climb whereas Speechly has not done so well. The commercial side of Withers will be in favour but there is concern that the firm has acted for individuals."
Commenting on the deal Andrew Clarke said. "Having previously worked with Iceni on their initial investment in StockWell, we are extremely pleased to have worked on this strategic merger which sees the combination of two leading communications firms under the StockWell brand."
It is unlikely to go via the department itself, though. "The Department of Health only looks at £75m-plus projects, or novel or contentious stuff." The vast majority of new primary care projects will be below that figure
"The Court of Appeal stressed that there is no 'cut and dried answer' to these cases, and it seems that there will inevitably be borderline cases troubling the courts in years to come."
