"The key issue which has propelled London prices over recent years has been an appetite from global purchasers for tangible investments" Liam Bailey, head of residential research, told the newspaper
Peter Bolton King, RICS Global Residential Director, commented: "When making the biggest purchase of their lives, it's important that buyers - and especially those who haven't been through the purchase process before - understand precisely what is involved. This is particularly relevant now, with the market now seemingly over the very worst and more first time buyers a position to make a move."
She explains, "The buy-to-let sector is still growing and very much an important part of the overall property market in the UK. However, many buyers who have been inspired to enter the buy-to-let arena by media coverage of the opportunities this activity offers, are not always fully aware of the obligations they will also be taking on. Such obligations incur costs that must be included in calculations when budgeting."
