Quotes

He continued, "Dr. Krow Rodney gave me a tour of the community and hospital and everyone seemed to know me. I spent time with the hospital staff while I was here visiting and really liked the people and environment."
"Ms. Darnell is an ideal candidate with several admirable attributes," Sparlin said. "She will serve as an excellent resource for our OEHS students. We are looking forward to her arrival."
Robert "Bob Young was born in Willmar, MN and spent the first 20 years of his life as a "military brat." He enlisted and signed up for Warrant Officer Training School in Texas. He did his primary training at Fort Walter, TX followed by further training at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. After completing flight training as a helicopter pilot, Bob reported for a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968. His tour in Vietnam included being stationed at Plantation Army Airfield in Long Bihn, flying Huey gunships. He later flew missions in Cambodia, attached to U S Special Forces operating out of remote bases in the Cambodian jungles. During this time, Bob reported being shot down once by a suspected "LZ (landing zone) watcher." Knowing they were going to lose power due to engine damage, Bob piloted the craft toward an opening in the jungle when the engine failed. This precipitated what Bob referred to as the "longest ten minutes of my life" as the special operators secured the perimeter and Bob waited for another helicopter to come in to pick up the flight crew. Overall, Bob flew 412 combat sorties and laughed as he commented that he "was shot at during 411 of them!""
"She's been hearing about David (from me) since fifth grade, and now she's finally going to see him" Madden said of Blum. Both are Bartlett High School seniors
