Last fall, Bordwine, an epidemiologist with the New River District of the Virginia Department of Health, led a team that surveyed medical samples and treatments that had been untouched for 70 years or more. The investigating team included those trained to handle hazardous materials and the state police. On Saturday, Bordwine will show slides and talk about medical treatments common at the time, but no longer used. She will illustrate how once-ordinary medicines and treatments can become deadly over time. She will leave time for questions."
