"A person almost his whole life to work towards democratization, I feel a great honor to speak to you" said the 14th Dalai Lama
"On behalf of asbestos cancer victims nationwide, we are appalled that the Wisconsin Assembly passed a bill that adds additional burdens for Wisconsin's veterans and seniors dying of asbestos-related cancers. Fatal asbestos cancers do not manifest until decades after exposure and then usually cause death within 18 months."
"It is clear to me that the pursuit of durable peace in Congo is not hopeless, quite the contrary in fact,” Affleck said. “The solutions are not new, or particularly complex. But without persistent, high-level leadership by the United States, the key players will not come to the table and do their part.”"
Ellis shot back by letter Monday, saying: "In the face of this evidence, it is mind-boggling that she claims that there were no negotiations. When I come to Madison, I don't check my brain at the bus depot. "I know when I'm being played," Ellis wrote. Ellis and others have expressed anger about the reported negotiations, saying the county was barred by the Act 10 law eliminating most collective bargaining for public employees from negotiating with a decertified union. AFSCME maintains that its decertification was reversed by a Circuit Court ruling last September. Dane County Circuit Judge Juan Colas found parts of Act 10 were an unconstitutional infringement of public employees' right to freedom of speech and association, and to equal protection under the law."
