...The latest survey gives 42.4% to the "yes", 47.6% "no, and 9.9% undecided. EUR-GBP fell to 0.7970 from just under 0.8000. GBP-USD later ramped up to 1.6230, as fallout from the latest Scotland independence poll continued. Buy stops were tripped at 1.6200 on its way to the high, with more reported at 1.6250. Further indication of a "no" outcome for Scotland could see GBP squeezed back upup to 1.6500."
...and repeated that the Australian dollar remains overvalued, "particularly given declines in key commodity price," and that the labour market has "a degree of spare capacity and that it will probably be some time yet before unemployment declines consistently."
...however, gave the euro market a bearish cue, saying that "it is no secret that we are seeing somewhat of a downturn in the economy", adding that "Germany is no longer able to be a locomotive for growth" . His remarks fits our expectation for the ECB to next week revise growth projections lower from the present +1.0% forecast for this year...
